Terms of Use

These terms apply to Pack Planner (pack.beechwoldtrail.com) and the beechwoldtrail.com website, run by Beechwold Trail ("we", "us"). By using Pack Planner, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
The service
Pack Planner is a free tool for planning backpacking trips. We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering the service. If we plan to shut it down, we'll try to give you notice in the app so you can download your data first.
Your account
- You sign in with your email address. Keep access to that email account secure, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Pack Planner.
Your data
What you enter (your gear, food, trips and notes) belongs to you. You give us permission to store it and show it back to you, only so the app can work. We don't claim ownership of it and don't sell or share it. Our Privacy policy explains what we store and who can see it. You can download your data or delete your account at any time in Settings.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- try to access other people's accounts or data;
- interfere with the service, overload it, or get around its security or limits;
- use automated tools to copy or scrape the service;
- use it for anything illegal.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Safety outdoors
Pack Planner is a planning aid. Weather forecasts, typical conditions, weights, calorie figures, gear suggestions and missing-gear warnings come from outside sources or from what you entered, and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Don't rely on the app for your safety. Check official forecasts and land-agency conditions before you go, carry what your trip actually requires, and use your own judgment. You are responsible for your own safety and decisions in the outdoors.
Outside services and data
The app uses data and services from others, including the U.S. National Weather Service and NOAA, Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), and MapTiler with OpenStreetMap data. Their content belongs to them and is shown with credit where required. We aren't responsible for their accuracy or availability.
Our content
The Pack Planner and Beechwold Trail names, the app's design, code and text, and the sample demo data are © 2026 Beechwold Trail. All rights reserved. You may use the app for your own trip planning, but please don't copy or redistribute it.
No warranty
Pack Planner is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that data will never be lost, so keep your own copy of anything important (Settings → Download my data).
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Beechwold Trail will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the service or reliance on its information. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. Continuing to use Pack Planner after a change means you accept the new terms.
